    Default Warhammer 40k: Spearhead

If you hate going to GW's site heres the new article

Gather your tanks and ready your lascannons ? in June the pages of White Dwarf magazine and the Games Workshop website join forces to bring you a whole new expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Spearhead.

Spearhead is a new way to play Warhammer 40,000 that enables you to unleash exciting tank battles and daring breakthrough missions on the tabletop, bringing the full mechanised fury of the 41st Millennium to bear in your games. June's White Dwarf will contain the main part of the supplement, including new rules, missions and plenty of inspirational hobby advice. Alongside this, the Games Workshop website will feature additional material exclusively for registered members, such as details of how to assemble your Spearhead formations along with even more painting, modelling and collecting tips.

As if a whole new Expansion wasn't exciting enough, it's going to be accompanied by a range of new miniatures including some stunning new plastic kits ? more details of these kits, and the Spearhead Expansion, will follow in White Dwarf and here on the Games Workshop website.

A word of advice, however ? because it contains a new Expansion, June's White Dwarf promises to be very popular. If you're not already a subscriber now's probably a very good time to correct that, and to register on the Games Workshop website to hear all the news first.

awesome. finally I can put all my guard armor to good use.
America is at that awkward stage where it's too late to change things from within and too early to shoot the bastards.

i am one against this. it just sounds like another way gw can con us into buying more products.
and soon they will update the damned rules and price rises etc.....

i don't find it much exciting at all. plus i already can field all my tanks in a battle just requires large games and not many people like versing my tank heavy army.

Kerky, excuse me, but isn't the objective of every corporation to sell it's products?

Well I'm excited about it. (duh) Maybe now we'll have some special rules again for tank formations and can duke it out in big tank battles.

yes a corporation does push to sell. but GW can annoy me sometimes with their push on everything.
dont get me wrong on this. GW does a great job at the hobby its just their staff always try push you into a corner and make you buy stuff you never wanted.

but who am i to complain i probably will end up buying it and liking the expansion. only time will tell.

The books, the fluff, the pictures, all just a way to sell the model kits. GW's policy is to do whatever they can to sell you that model. The fluff is just a convenient way to do that.

I agree with Aidan on this, afterall, war isn't about skirmishes, hell, Nomandy, Omaha beach, the chasing of Rommel, the Desert fox are just more historic proof of war is a game of numbers and yes, involves large numbers of casulties and major destruction.

So for all of us with a well oversized armies, it is perfect!

Besides, I get bored with the tactical usage of key elements only in the smaller number games. They tend to limit the full usage of a armies capabilities and strengths.

I for one am wondering if we can expect any new tanks(war buggies, Storm Raven or any of the missing IG ones) to come out with this.

NS you are forgetting 2 very important battles fought by mostly tanks.

    1. Battle of the Bulge
    2. The Six Day War
