Just depends on the type of ambient, so can be too odd for some like Lustmord, which is good, just a matter of taste. I have a huge collection of music, as Loken can attest, lol.
Also there are free online players, just depends if you can get them on here, in fact, a Juke box would be better, since you could select what you wanted to hear.

well, a rss feed to a radio would cost 0, and all we ahve to do is find a radio featuring Lady Gaga and the Rollingsotnes (in other word, a littlebit of everyghitng), and we're on a roll. any other suggestions to have some music on the site, shoot.

music on the site would also be great incentive for more members to join!
Don't you see their bodies burning desolate and full of yearning, dying of anticipation choking from intoxication...
If we are talking about our wants I want Beyonce to massage my back while I am typing on the chat. And maybe Lady GaGa to get me a cold beverage when I need one.![]()
This would add bloat and seems like a bad idea.
Obviously you haven't seen a picture of me I am already bloated! so NO PROBLEM![]()
Stick to the topic ppl...

well music could be nice but whats stopping you from putting together a playlist in your itunes/Windows Media/Whatever you use and listening to that?
With blood and rage of crimson red, ripped from a corpse so freshly dead, together with our hellish hate, we'll burn you all, that is your Fate!
I kinda like someone else playing the music, i have a nasty habit of skipping songs instead of working on somehting else while listeningi like listening to radio, so... dunno, maybe get a sponsorship from a few on-line radio stations in order to keep links to their livestream on our mainpage? that way who wants to listen just clicks on the link

I've tried adding a function like this for a site I built a few years back. When I did it, I used some code to add a player to the footer of every page. I had lots of problems with it.
Not only does it add another function to an already heavy site, but I could never quite get the volume right. The music was either too soft, thus defeating the purpose, or was too loud meaning people would just turn it off(think myspace lol). Also, it can cause the pages to load slower if it is set to every page since clicking on new pages/multiple pages would cause the player to freak out.
Of course, if done right, where it would cause no extra bloat, and is set to a decent volume level, it could work. However, I would advise against it - if people can set different songs, it would have to be an extremely robust and dynamic player, or if it was set to one song, not everyone would like it. I guess if only one song, some sort of 40ish sounding ambient song would work.
Just some thoughts.
All of creation suffers, young ones...We are Doom Eagles. And we are dead already.
This is possible with our new chatroom... if we can afford it.. and pull together money..
what about pandora...
that is a cool site...but the catch is would the songs reload each time you went to a new page...
