I always ship in boxes. Where I used to work, I would horde the packing peanuts... bags at a time when the vendor would update their displays. Six years later I still have two 33-gallon bags in the atic. The only thing I have ever shipped in a padded envelope was a NOS opened box of SMs. I still packed popples inside the GW box, and then some around the edge of the envelope. I knew something like that would be very hard to harm going just two states away. Besides, they declined to pay the extra $2 it would have taken to ship in a Priority Box.

I've received some pretty jacked packing jobs, but have been lucky on damage.
