No you dont.
Free Forever. I will never incur a fee.
go to the market place section
http://www.rogue-market.com/#marketplace-classified-ads
Find the place you want to list your items.
Create a new thread and post all your stuff that you want to sell~
How, once people have found what they want, would you get your product to them, and get their product to you?
Ah I've been asked many times on this question.
I'm going to create a guide on it. Stay tuned. I'm just going to write up a quick summary.
1. Ask the opposition if they have ny references or proof that they are a good trader. (Ebay, other sites)
2. Check their rogue-market trading stats.
3. It is my personal advice, deal small first. Do not deal more than 50$ if this is your first time. You do NOT want to get burned. We have never had an issue on Rogue-Market just yet, but our site will become more mainstream, and if it does, there is bound to be a bad fruit.
4. Always confirm the trade. Ask the person to 'agree'. Save a copy of all your PRIVATE MESSAGES, and EMAILS. If you contact someone on Instant Messenger - save a transcript of your dialogue.
You want to make a contractual agreement and proof. If someone scams you big time, you can file them under mail fraud. And further pursue the individual.
5. Get the opposing partie's full information.
First and last name
Address
Phone Number (Call them to confirm their identity and location)
Instant messenger screen names (optional).
If your trading partner has no ill intention of scamming or bad trading, then they will happily do this. Do the same to your trading partner. Give your information privately.
If you are BOTH trading - deal small - i would say. Simulataneous ship.
If you are buying =
If you a Buyer - pay with SECURE payment methods. I highly recommend paypal. IF you have fears of submitting your information online, I say just pass it once for paypal.
They are multi billion dollar money handler. They are owned by ebay. You are sure to know that millions of people use it al the time.
I have for 5 years.
If someone were to scam you, you simply file a report, and you get your money back. Very simple.
If you are selling:
If you are a seller - do the same. Accept paypal. If a scammer wants to say that they didn't recieve their items, you show them
When shipping out to people:
ALWAYS get Delivery confirmation - its a 75 cents investment that can make or break your deal.
(or signature confirmation = but more costly).
I'll provide a more comprehensive guide when i get the chance.
how do i post a comment on the 40k auction forum asking if someones got a certain model??
Isn't someone who only will accept a check or money order a big red flag? Or is there a legit reason?
Isn't paypal free and aren't most people who are afraid to use paypal, probably afraid of touching a computer anyways for fear of big brother seeing in their house through the monitor?
There are a few countries (like mine) where paypal is not avaiable, but the list of such countries is avaiable on the paypal site. Also, possibly someones paypal account is innaccessible to whatever reason. Other than those two cases, i can't think of a reason not to have paypal.

Yes, it is a red flag. Paypal is just about the standard for sending/receiving money these days, imo. Unless they have a legitimate reason there is no real reason not to have a paypal account if you hope to trade/sell/buy.
Another way if they can't do paypal and you really want to trade/sell from them, is have them send the check/money order first, and only once you receive it, then would you send your part of the trade. This is really only done if you and the other person are in constant contact, so as to avoid miscommunication problems.
All of creation suffers, young ones...We are Doom Eagles. And we are dead already.
some people choose not to use PayPal for several reasons.
I wouldn't consider someone not wanting PayPal to be a red flag for a scam.
Reasons for not wanting to use PayPal:
- Very much so *NOT* free. Someone receiving money from someone else through paypal is charged a fee (pretty decent one at that.) for goods or services. The **only** way to not be charged the fee is to send the money as a gift, but then you are **NOT** covered by PayPal's Fraud protection (as the money was a gift and not for goods or services.
- They may have no way of transferring money from their PayPal account to a tangible/spendable resource (i.e. they don't want to link their bank account to their PPal account for security reasons.)
- They could possibly owe PPal money (auction fees, etc.) and times being tough they do not wish to repay them just yet. ~this is a craptacular reason, but a reason none-the-less.
- They may not want to promote or endorse Ebay/Paypal (kinda like people striking against WalMart and boycotting them cause they're the retail devil at the moment.)
I would find out why this person does not wish to deal through PayPal (it could be they don't want to be charged the fees. 99/100 times this is the reason. The solution to this is to offer covering the fees (usually a few bucks))

For myself i don't like the fact of giving a third party complete access to my personal records. Should someone unscrupulous be working with paypal they then have a lot of information I would rather they not have. I generally deal with Western Union, they track everything and their rates are pretty good too.
